Research and Training Officer
Dr. Rosie Everett is an experienced, impact-oriented environmental scientist with a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Warwick. She is a part-time research fellow working with Prof. Mark Reed at Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC), leading policy impact-driven research on social acceptance of nature-based solutions. She regularly delivers evidence-based research to government agencies and contributes to national and international public policy. In previous academic roles at Northumbria University and University College Cork, she led courses on environmental data science analysis, public engagement and science policy. She is also a doctoral research supervisor for Northumbria University. In her role at the Institute for Methods Innovation, Dr. Everett contributes to training and research projects focusing on research impact for organisations such as the UN Environment Program, Research Ireland and UK Research and Innovation.
Her professional experience across academia and industry includes public and policy engagement, environmental communication and training workshop delivery for academic, professional and policy audiences. Her work has been funded by the European Commission, the British Academy, the UK’s Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), Research Ireland and government agencies (e.g., ClimateXChange).
