Bio

Peter Joubert is a committed ecologist with a strong background in Biodiversity and Ecology, driven by a lifelong passion for evidence-based change. With a BSc in Biodiversity and Ecology from Stellenbosch University and recent training in Science Communication, Peter brings a deep understanding of environmental stewardship to his work.

 

Peter currently serves as a Project Support Officer at the Institute for Methods Innovation, where he applies his expertise in marketing, project management, and communications. His role encompasses overseeing the logistics of training programs and managing social media platforms, ensuring that complex scientific ideas are accessible to a broad audience. Peter is dedicated to promoting informed decision-making and sustainable practices through effective communication and strategic engagement.

 

Previously, as the Waste Manager and Assistant Teacher at Green School South Africa, Peter led impactful sustainability initiatives, successfully implementing a zero-to-landfill culture and promoting ecological awareness through educational programs.

 

In addition to his professional endeavors, Peter has contributed valuable insights to environmental discourse through his work, including an interview with renowned South African ecologist, Dave Pepler. His commitment to continuous learning and stakeholder engagement is reflected in his ability to build strong networks within the circular economy.

 

Peter’s dedication to leaving the Earth in better shape for future generations drives his ongoing efforts in sustainability advocacy and education.
